Cold Protocol

My protocol to treat a cold or a flu.

Cold Defense Pack:
  1. Antidiabetic meds (helps cells intake glucose for fuel)
  2. Lysine 2000-3000mg a day (antiviral)
  3. Vit D, Vit K, and Vit B complex (general health and immunity)
    * Vit D increased to 20,000 IU in morning then 20k at night the first day of symptoms
  4. Turmeric powder
  5. Psyllium Husk Fiber (helps somehow)
  6. Cream of tartar (rich in potassium, good electrolyte source) in warm water
  7. Protein supplement to ensure adequate protein intake
  8. Mask
  9. Neilmed Sinus Rinse (reduces viral load in sinus and reduces postnasal drip to throat)
  10. Mucinex DM Liquid (Active ingredients: Dextromethorphan HBr, Guaifenesin) in case of chest infection and coughing fits, such as bronchitis
Turmeric powder, cream of tartar, and salt can make a carb-free electrolyte drink. Add sugar free jello mix or psyllium husk for better mouthfeel and to soothe throat and gut.
Mucinex (DXM and Guaifenesin) helps if having coughing fits at night and unable to sleep. Benadryl together for nighttime helps too. Take Claritin in morning.
Retired from my list due to diabetes, overuse, or just not effective: Garlic pills, Zicam Medicated Drops, Pedialyte, Nasal spray with oxymetazoline (can be found at dollar tree)

Cold Defense Protocol:
  1. Take 2000mg Lysine at first notice of symptoms
  2. Use nasal spray with oxymetazoline at first notice of sinus irritation
  3. Use sinus rinse at the first notice of sinus irritation after using oxymetazoline spray
  4. Take protein powder with each meal
  5. Drink warm/hot water with turmeric, cream of tartar, and salt throughout the day, should be nearly drowning in it
  6. Mix fiber or jello with warm water, it seems to help the body recover from cold faster
  7. DO NOT CONSUME ANYTHING COLD, NO COLD WATER
  8. DO NOT SWALLOW NASAL DRIP, SPIT IT OUT
  9. Wear a mask to keep nasal passage humidified, even at night
  10. Sinus rinse twice a day - at morning and at night
  11. Hot showers every day
  12. Bundle up
